The legendary East Course is our signature course, where 15 PGA and LPGA tournaments were played, including the Jackie Gleason Inverrary Classic, The Inverrary Classic, The Honda Classic, the 1976 Tournament Players Championship and the LPGA Phar-Mor Classic.

The course is in excellent condition and is characterized by large, rolling greens, multiple tees, strategically placed bunkers, and lots of water. Its length from the championship tees is over 7112 yards, but is playable for golfers of any level with four additional sets of tees. While the East Course gives you plenty of room off the tee, it is your second shot that will make or break your round. Club selection and pin position are always an issue. For example, the 8th green is 13 yards wide and some 54 yards deep, changing your second shot by as much as three clubs, depending on the pin location.

The 7th hole is frequently mentioned as among the best par threes in Florida. Playing 201 yards from the back tee, it's all carry over water to a green that is angled in such a way as to look far smaller than it is in reality. The back and front right of the green are guarded by bunkers, leaving the player with little choice but to hit a fine shot to make par. The 16th hole, a 399 yard par 4, is perhaps the most typical example of the classic design and challenge that faces the player on the East Course. The hole doglegs to the right, around a picturesque lake, and is guarded on the right by large fairway traps. From there, you aim at the smallest green on the course, surrounded by cavernous traps.
